New to Jones, New to Canada
Jones Packaging is pleased to announce the recent purchase and installation of a 9 colour press to its operation in London, Ontario - first of its kind in Canada.
This 4 million dollar investment will enable the company to broaden its reach beyond existing pharmaceutical and confectionery clientele into the luxury packaging market with focus on the high-end cosmetic, nutraceutical and premium confectionary industries.
Purchased from Komori in Japan, this multi-colour capacity machine is capable of printing on a variety of paperboard material using UV and water-based inks and coatings, including fluorescent and glow-in-the-dark. Customers of Jones will benefit from this press’s ability to produce enhanced graphics and images, resulting in a higher eye appeal to the consumer. Of particular importance to pharmaceutical clients will be the opportunity to incorporate advanced security features that significantly reduce the possibility of counterfeiting or tampering.
Finally, and of significant importance, the new 9 colour press represents cutting edge technology in sustainability. It was essential that Jones maintain strong environmental principles as established in their Green Sweep® initiative. Built in a renewable energy facility, the press operates alcohol free, uses emission free inks, and is manufactured to reduce waste through operating efficiencies.
