Jones was a founding member on the team that led the development of the HACCP Food Packaging Safety Program. PACsecure implementation demands a formal program encompassing the PACsecure Prerequisites:
- Transportation - Equipment - Personnel - Sanitation and Pest Control - Recall program Hazards that have not been controlled within the Prerequisite program are controlled through the formal HACCP process, a prescriptive 10 step program designed specifically to identify uncontrolled chemical, biological and physical hazards and reduce the risk of contamination to food and pharmaceutical packaging materials. QMI SAI Global provided the first ever certification surveillance program, resulting in PACsecure certificates numbered QMI-00-001 and QMI-00-002 issued to Jones London and Guelph respectively. We were therefore the first in the world to be accredited with both paper and flexible standards. The elimination of contaminants within our facilities and processes provides a benefit to customers across all industries by providing a higher level of quality and safety in materials produced by Jones Packaging. PACsecure certification provided Jones Packaging with an opportunity to bring reality into food safety for the packaging industry. |
